Bardia National Park is the largest national park nestled in the Western Terai of Nepal. The national park was established to protect the ecosystem and conserve the habitat of tigers and other wild species. In 1976, a small portion of the area was declared as Karnali Wildlife Reserve and more than 1500 people of the Babai valley were resettled outside the park to grow the flora and fauna. The park was renamed as Bardia Wildlife Reserve in 1982 and its size was extended in 1984. The reserve was announced as Royal Bardia National Park in 1988.

Bardia National Park is situated in the Terai region of Nepal bordered by the Karnali River and bisected by Babai River. The park covers an area of approximately 968 square kilometers of the total area of Bardia District. You will take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, it takes you about 1 hour to reach Nepalgunj. After landing at Nepalgunj, you will take a drive to Bardia passing some of the most awe-inspiring routes and villages. After arriving at Bardia, you will take some time to rest and then visit the Elephant and Crocodile breeding center. There you will get to see the baby elephants and crocodiles and their lifecircle. Your next activity of the day is exploring the Tharu village and observing their lifestyle and local cultures.

After having Breakfast we will start our jeep safari that is gonna last for 2-3 hours. You will be slowly taken deep into the national park jungle in a jeep and there will be a guide who will give you all the information about the jungle and animals. During this time, you get to see many wildlife such as peacocks, deers, rhinoceros, monkeys, etc. After finishing the safari, we will get back to the hotel, have lunch and take a rest for a while. Then we will go on a jungle walk for tiger tracking. During the walk, you will spot various species of birds  and their chirping sound. 

We will roam inside the jungle in the hope to see the tigers, if we are lucky, we will see tigers. It is very rare to see tigers easily, so if we don’t see a tiger then we will try it the next day.

In the morning after breakfast, we will go on a jungle walk with two nature guides from the National park. The guide will lead us through the most probable tiger spotting place. You will get a golden opportunity to see the Royal Bengal tigers engaging in their natural behaviour and also might spot the couple tigers mating. After encountering the tiger, your next activity is rafting in the Karnali river. If you are an adventurous person you can enjoy river rafting, if not you can skip it.
