1. How much cash to carry in Manaslu Circuit Trek?
Note down that there are no ATMs high in the remote villages of the Manaslu region Nepal. Even tea houses don’t accept cards. If available, they may charge 5 % to 8 % processing fee but internet issues may hinder transactions. Therefore, you must carry cash during the Manaslu Circuit Trek. If you are on pre – booked trekking package, then you can carry lesser amount of money. For trekkers who need to pay food and accommodation cost themselves may have to carry more. In an average, carry around NRs. 40,000 to NRs. 60,000 if you are trekking in a package. Similarly, if you are paying by yourselves, then allocate around 450 $ to 600 $ according to your preferences.
2. Where do I get last ATM in the Manaslu Circuit Trek route?
The last ATM that you can find in the Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal is in Aarughat Village. You can find Prabhu Bank ATM in Dhading side of Aaarughat. Note down that there are two sides of the town. One is in Gorkha and another is in Dhading. Atm may not work sometimes. Therefore, arrange all cash in Kathmandu for safety otherwise you may have to borrow money from guide or other trekkers.
3. Do I need to pay entry fee to visit monasteries of Manaslu region?
No, you don’t need to pay entry fee to enter or visit monasteries present in the Manaslu Circuit Trek route. These monasteries don’t charge you money but they expect donations. Most of these monasteries run on donations and puja ceremonies. In the places like Serang Gompa, you may have to pay certain amount of fee in which you will get food and accommodation.
4. Can I reach Tibetan Border from Samdo Village as a side trip?
Yes, it is possible to visit the Tibetan Border from Samdo Village as a side trip. Please note down that you must allocate additional one day to include this activity in the Manaslu Circuit Trek itinerary. It is not wise to skip acclimatization day. Therefore, allocate an extra day to include Tibet Border hike from Samdo Village.
5. Why you must not do winter Manaslu Circuit Trek?
Some trekking companies claim that it is possible to trek during winter season. Yes, it is possible to trek in the Manaslu Circuit Trek in winter season. Ideal times to do the trek are during spring season (March – May) and autumn season (September – November) but some claim winter also to be an ideal time. You can trek in this trail but you may not be able to cross Larke La Pass (5106 m). Local authority blocks the trail from Samdo due to heavy snowfall and chances of snowstorm. So, if anyone says that you can do winter Manaslu Circuit Trek, then think twice.
6. You can reach Machha Khola by local bus instead of expensive private jeep
Many trekking agencies of Nepal push jeep transportation to Machha Khola from Kathmandu. If you ask this blogger, then I would also recommend jeep drive instead of local bus. Jeep transfer is on better route than the bus drive. You can travel to Machha Khola by local bus in about NRs. 1500 to NRs. 2000.
7. Chumnubri (Tsum Nubri) Rural Municipality Entry Permit after 2026 is NRs. 2000
Almost all trekking companies have not updated the cost of the Chumnubri Rural Municipality entry permit cost. They still publish NRs. 1000 for this local permit. Please note that the new updated route since 2026 February is NRs. 2000. Nowadays, even a trekking guide needs to pay for lunch and dinner coupons during the Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal.
8. Add 2 Days and You can Climb Larke Peak
If you add 2 days in the itinerary of the Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal, then you can include adventurous Larke Peak climbing. There are two peaks of this mountain which is main and the regular lower elevation one. The side summit is easier and it is about 50 $ lesser in terms of cost. Therefore, if you wish to do mountaineering activities, then choose it.
9. You can add Annapurna Circuit Trek itinerary in same permit fee
Mention the route of your trek before purchasing the permit for the Manaslu Circuit Trek. If you do so, then you can add Annapurna Circuit Trek itinerary in the same permit fee. You must take the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) permit to do the Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal. Therefore, it is okay to add the ACT itinerary if you love long detour that includes the Annapurna Circuit Trek route and the Manaslu Circuit Trek route.

The difficulty level of the trek is above moderate and you may not be able to trek with kids below 12 years old and senior citizens above 70 years old.

13. Don’t pay more than 950 $ for standard Manaslu Circuit Trek Package
The price of the trek package may exceed 950 $ according to your preferences. However, you can get quality standard to basic itinerary with services in less than 1000 $ per person. The package includes the permit costs and other services. Note down that 950 $ is enough to complete the trek with basic services.
14. Solo Trekking is Allowed but you must hire a trekking guide
Recently, Nepal Government has changed the rule of the restricted trek in Nepal. Until 2026, you were not allowed to trek in Nepal as a solo trekker but it is not the case now. If you are a solo trekker, then you can get the special restricted area permit and you can do the trek. However, you must make sure that you are trekking in this trekking route with a licensed trekking guide. Yes, the rule that banned solo trekking is uplifted but you can’t trek without a trekking guide in the restricted areas of Nepal.
